The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment

The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment was formed on 1 July 1881 from the amalgamation of The 47th (Lancashire) Regiment with The 81st (Loyal Lincoln Volunteers) Regiment.
The 47th became The First Battalion The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
The 81st became The Second Battalion The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
In 1920, the regimental name changed to The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire).
On 25 March 1970, The Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire) merged with the Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Volunteers) to form The Queen's Lancashire Regiment (Loyals and Lancashire).

21 Aug 1919 The 1st/Loyal North Lancashire Regiment embarked in England for Malta.
1 Dec Strength: 20 officers, 820 rank and file.

1 Jan 1920 Strength: 20 officers, 805 rank and file. The regiment was on garrison duty with The 2nd/Essex Regiment.

1 Jan 1921 Strength: 27 officers, 948 rank and file.
Apr The 1st/Loyal North Lancashire Regiment embarked for Plymouth.

Jan 1966 The 1st/Loyal (North Lancashire) Regiment arrived from England. It was quartered at St Andrew's Barracks Pembroke.
July 1966–Jan 1967 One company deployed to Aden.

1967 The battalion was at St Andrew's Barracks Pembroke.
1968 1st/Loyal (North Lancashire)
Dec 1968 The 1st/Loyal (North Lancashire) Regiment embarked for Dover England.
The 2nd/The Loyal (North Lancashire) Regiment
1899 2nd/Loyal North Lancashire

1 July 1881 The 81st Regiment became the 2nd Battalion The Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
20 Sep 1899 The 2nd/Loyal North Lancashire Regiment embarked at Southampton from Dover on the transport Jelunga. It disembarked at Malta on 29 September and was quartered at Pembroke Camp.

1900 2nd/Loyal North Lancashire
1 July 1900 Strength: 849 men. The regiment was at Pembroke Camp.

1901 2nd/Loyal North Lancashire
22 Feb 1901 The 2nd/Loyal North Lancashire Regiment embarked for Crete, where it disembarked on 27 February.
It left Crete for Gibraltar on 7 May 1902.

Jan 1900 The 3rd/Loyal North Lancashire Regiment arrived from England.
The battalion had 917 men at Fort Manoel.
