5 Oct 1904 Surgeon-Lieutenant Royal Malta Artillery.
"Robert Randon MD, Gentleman, to be Surgeon-Lieutenant, with local and temporary rank, to complete establishment".

Nov 1904 Served with one of the five RMA companies in Egypt.

3 Mar 1905 Returned from Egypt.

1906 On duty at Malta.

5 Oct 1907 Promoted Surgeon-Captain Royal Malta Artillery.

1908 Surgeon-Captain Royal Malta Artillery.

28 Dec 1908 Part of a relief party sent to Sicily following an earthquake in Calabria on 28 Dec 1908. He was praised for his efforts and received the decoration of the Crown of Italy for aid rendered to the victims of the Messina disaster.

Surgeon Captain Robert Randon RMA was awarded a diploma and silver medal of the Italian Red Cross at the Palace Valletta for his role in the relief of the earthquake victims at Messina on 28 Dec 1908.

31 July 1914 Moved to Fort Mosta to take medical charge of Movable Armoured Battery. The sick from Fort Mosta were referred to Forrest Hospital.

18 Feb 1915 Proceeded from Valletta Hospital to Ghajn Tuffieha for duty at the Musketry Camp. In medical charge of 3rd Reserve Bn Royal Fusiliers.

5 Oct 1916 Promoted Surgeon-Major Royal Malta Artillery.
Attached to HQ No 2 Coy RMA.

1917 Supernumerary Surgeon-Major Royal Malta Artillery.
Attached to No 2 Coy RMA.

Mar 1917 Surgeon-Major R Randon, was brought to the notice of the Secretary of State for War for valuable services rendered in connection with the war.1
