3 Oct 1799 Appointed Hospital Mate. Embarked with a detachment of Guards to Holland.

3 Oct – 28 Nov 1799 Served in Holland on Sir Ralph Abercrombie's Expeditionary Force.

29 Nov 1799 – 19 May 1801 On duty in England.

20 May 1801 – 20 Feb 1804 On duty in Malta and Egypt.

In Malta, he was for a while in medical charge of the Ancient Irish Fencibles, Acting Surgeon to two Light Battalions on "suspicious duty" at the Lazaretto in Fort Manoel. This was likely to have been plague in suspicious cases coming from Egypt.

20 May 1801 Embarked for Egypt in charge of Ancient Irish Fencibles.

Malta 1802 In charge of the Foreign Invalids sent to Tuscany.

Jan 1803 On duty at Leghorn with invalids.

Malta Oct 1803 Hospital Mate.

20 Feb 1804 Left Malta.

21 Feb 1804 – 12 July 1820 On duty in England.

10 Mar 1804 Appointed Assistant Surgeon 18th (The Royal Irish) Regiment of Foot.

11 July 1805 Appointed Assistant Surgeon 6th Dragoons.

16 Feb 1809 Appointed Surgeon 90th (Perthshire Volunteers-Light Infantry) Regiment.

13 July 1820 Retired on to half-pay.
