5 July 1800 Appointed Hospital Mate.

5 July 1800 – Aug 1800 On duty in England.

Aug 1800 – Sep 1801 On duty in Egypt. On 8 March 1801, he landed in Egypt with the 1st Division of the army of Sir Ralph Abercrombie. He was present in the French action of 13 and 21 March which resulted in the death of Abercrombie.

25 June 1801 Appointed Assistant Surgeon 18th (The Royal Irish) Regiment of Foot.

Malta Sep 1801 Returned from Egypt.

Malta Dec 1801 Left Malta for Elba to reinforce Porto Ferrajo.

Dec 1801 – Aug 1802 On duty in Elba.

Malta 24 Oct 1802 On the strength of the Malta Garrison.

Aug 1802 – Jan 1805 On duty in England.

Jan 1805 – Aug 1810 On duty in Jamaica.

6 Apr 1809 Promoted Surgeon 60th (Royal American) Regiment of Foot.

1 June 1809 Appointed Surgeon 18th (The Royal Irish) Regiment of Foot.

Aug 1810 – Mar 1812 On duty in England.

Mar 1812 – 11 May 1817 On duty in Jamaica.

12 May 1817 – Mar 1821 On duty in England.

Malta Mar 1821 Arrived from England.

Malta 12 July 1821 Placed on half-pay and returned to England in charge of invalids. Arrived home in September 1821.
