Surgeon William Henry Price qualified MRCS in May 1854 and entered the Army Medical Department as an Assistant Surgeon on 26 May 1854.

He served with the 14th Regiment of Foot in the Crimea from June 1855 and was present at the Siege and fall of Sebastopol.

He received the Crimea Medal with clasp and the Turkish Medal.

29 June 1855 Assistant Surgeon 14th (Buckinghamshire) Regiment of Foot.

5 June 1856 Arrived from Turkey and the Crimea.

14 Aug 1856 Promoted Staff Assistant Surgeon.

5 Nov 1857 Left for England.

8 Jan 1858 Appointed Assistant Surgeon 89th Regiment of Foot.

1 Sep 1865 Promoted Staff Assistant Surgeon.

1866 On duty at Netley.

22 May 1866 Staff Surgeon.

1867 On duty at Pembroke.

31 July 1867 Promoted Surgeon 1st/14th (Buckinghamshire) Regiment of Foot.

20 Aug 1867 Arrived from England.

26 Mar 1868 To England on leave.

21 July 1868 Returned to Malta.

19 Oct 1868 Left for the East Indies.

29 Dec 1869 Staff Surgeon from 1st/14th Regiment of Foot.

1870 On duty at Newcastle.

4 Feb 1871 Surgeon 46th (South Devonshire) Regiment of Foot. He served as their medical officer until 1873.

6 Sep 1873 Retired to half-pay.

6 Sep 1875 Resigned his half-pay.
