11 June 1841 Assistant Surgeon 63rd (West Suffolk) Regiment of Foot.
6 Dec 1844 Appointed Assistant Surgeon 44th (East Essex) Regiment of Foot, vice Assistant Surgeon Thomas Bartlett, who retired upon half-pay. The vacancy in 63rd Foot was filled by Assistant Surgeon William Stuart. Stuart was killed by the Kaffirs at the Cape of Good Hope on 24 Dec 1850.
7 May 1848 Arrived at Malta.
3 Apr 1849 Assistant Surgeon 62nd (Wiltshire) Regiment of Foot.
Apr 1849 His servant died from drowning.
17 May 1849 Returned to England following his appointment to 62nd Regiment.
7 May 1852 Surgeon 6th (Royal 1st Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot.
1852–1853 Served in the 8th Kaffir War Cape Colony.
24 May 1856 Died at the Cape of Good Hope.
