28 Apr 1854 Staff Assistant Surgeon Ordnance Medical Department.
18 Aug 1854 Accompanied 211 gunners from Woolwich. Placed in quarantine due to the presence of cholera in Gibraltar.
4 Dec 1854 Promoted Assistant Surgeon Ordnance Medical Department vice Assistant Surgeon Orlando Sawle Donnall who was promoted to the Army Medical Department on 17 Nov 1854.
Served in the Crimean War. Was present at the siege of Sebastopol (Sep 1854–Sep 1855).
2 Mar 1858 Awarded the Imperial Order of the Medjidie (5th Class) by the Sultan for his distinguished services before the enemy during the war against Russia.
3 Dec 1861 Reduced to half-pay. The vacancy in the Royal Artillery was filled by Assistant Surgeon Thomas Rawlings Mould 83rd Foot.
12 July 1871 Commuted his half-pay.
