Served in the Crimean War. Was present at the siege and fall of Sebastopol, the bombardment and capture on Kinbourn in 1855, and the expedition to Kertch June 1855.
12 June–9 Sep 1856 On leave.
Malta 2 Sep 1856 Arrived from England.
Malta 1857 On duty at Verdala Barracks Cottonera with his regiment.
Malta 10 May 1858 Left for India.
24 Sep 1861 Died at Taranaki New Zealand. The subsequent vacancy in 57th Foot was filled by Staff Surgeon-Major James Carroll Dempster.
