23 Sept 1845 Assistant Surgeon 15th (York, East Riding) Regiment of Foot.

19 Dec 1845 Staff Assistant Surgeon.

2 Sept 1853 Surgeon 59th (2nd Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot.

24 Feb 1854 Staff Surgeon 2nd Class.

Malta 8 Feb 1855 Arrived from England. Highly recommended by the PMO Inspector General Scott Daniel for his administrative talents in the arrangements of hospitals.

21 Aug 1855 Left for England.

31 Oct 1856 Surgeon Military Train.

18 Feb 1862 Staff Surgeon.

1 Aug 1863 Staff Surgeon Major Military Train.

23 Oct 1863 Died at Woolwich. He entered the service in June 1843 and had served in America and China. He was highly respected; a more kind and attentive officer to his patients never entered the service. The funeral took place with full military honours, and was attended in procession by about 500 officers and men, consisting of a detachment from various corps, and the officers commanding brigades and divisions in garrison.1
