7 July 1855 Served in the Crimean War. Was present at the siege and fall of Sebastopol and the attack on 8 September 1855.
Malta 8 June 1856 Arrived from the Crimea.
Malta 20 Jan 1857 On duty at Gozo. On leave from 14 January to 14 April.
Left Malta for Gibraltar.
26 Jan 1858 Appointed Staff Surgeon 2nd Class vice Staff Surgeon William Johnstone Fyffe appointed Surgeon 2nd/13th (1st Somersetshire) (Prince Albert's Light Infantry) Regiment. The vacancy on the staff was filled by Assistant Surgeon Robert Beresford Smyth 1st Foot.
14 May 1858 Appointed Surgeon 31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment on the death of Surgeon William Thomas Hoskin at Gibraltar on 27 March 1858.
23 Nov 1860 Staff Surgeon.
