Major Edward Hearne OBE RAVC qualified MRCVS (Dublin) on 19 Dec 1905.
He saw service in South Africa in the AVD/AVC from 20 Oct 1909 to 19 Sept 1914. During the Great War, he was in France and Belgium with the BEF.
After the war Major Hearne served with the British Army of occupation on the Rhine (BAOR).
He died on 3 Feb 1932, aged 49 yrs, in a polo accident.

3902847 LCpl P W Francis died at Mtarfa Military Hospital on 17 June 1932 aged 36 years (Mtarfa Military Cemetery)
On 17 June 1932, LCpl P W Francis RAMC died at the Military Hospital Mtarfa of suppurative appendicitis. His death came as a great shock to all his friends by whom he was well liked. His funeral which took place on 18 June, was attended by the whole Company.
After a short service of remembrance held at St Oswald Chapel, the cortege, heralded by the firing party and the band of 2nd/Worcestershire Regiment, proceeded to the cemetery at Mtarfa.
The large attendance at the funeral and the many wreaths were a sign of the great esteem in which he was held by his military and civilian acquaintances. At the conclusion of the service at the graveside, fellow members of the Buffs held a short service.
