Surgeon Henry Thornton Mostyn qualified MD from Kings' College Aberdeen in 1822. He entered the Army Medical Department in 1809.
8 July 1809 Appointed Hospital Mate for General Service.
4 Jan 1810 Assistant Surgeon 15th Dragoons.
11 Feb 1813 Assistant Surgeon 6th Royal Veteran Battalion.
19 Aug 1813 Assistant Surgeon 9th Royal Veteran Battalion.
7 July 1815 Assistant Surgeon 1st Royal Veteran Battalion.
7 Mar 1816 Assistant Surgeon 41st Regiment of Foot.
Feb 1822 Married Cecilia Susanna Forbes, fifth daughter of Donald Forbes Esq., at Melville Place Stirling.
20 Oct 1825 Surgeon 81st Regiment of Foot.
23 Feb 1826 Appointed Surgeon 8th (The King's) Regiment of Foot from 81st Foot on the promotion of Surgeon Thomas Cartan to Physician.
14 Jan 1830 Surgeon 47th (Lancashire) Regiment of Foot vice Surgeon Archibald Millar who retired upon half-pay. The vacancy created in 8th Foot was filled by the recall from half-pay of Staff Surgeon James Hunton Cardiff.
28 Feb 1837 Arrived from Gibraltar.
3 May 1837 Birth of Georgina Mostyn daughter of Cecilia and Surgeon Henry Thornton Mostyn 47th Foot. The child was baptised on 28 May 1837 by Archdeacon John Thomas Howe Le Mesurier Chaplain to the Forces.

24 July 1838 Acted as PMO in the absence on leave of Inspector of Hospitals John Frederick Clarke.
8 Feb 1839 Returned to his duties as surgeon 47th Foot.
24 Sept 1839 Birth of Margaretta Mostyn. The child was baptised on 11 October 1839 by Archdeacon John Thomas Howe Le Mesurier Chaplain to the Forces.
Oct 1839 Acting Inspector of Hospitals on the departure of John Frederick Clarke.
30 Oct 1840 Retired to half-pay. The vacancy in 47th Foot was filled by Surgeon John Mair.

Malta 30 May 1847 Death of Ellen Selina Georgina who was buried at Msida Bastion Cemetery, Floriana.
22 Oct 1848 Died in his 59th year, at the residence of his son-in-law Samuel Woodhouse, at Norley Hall Cheshire.
