Appointed surgeon to the Dublin Westmoreland Lock Hospital.
July 1821 Died at Dublin leaving a widow and five children. His widow received an annual sum of £40 from the McGrigor's Benevolent fund for widows of medical officers established in 1816. On her demise in 1826, the children were supported by another of McGrigor's charitable fund for orphans of medical officers established in 1820. The Orphan's trustees provided £15 to £25 per annum for ten years for their education.1
