Malta 11 Feb 1846 Baptism of Clara Melita Burton, born on 14 December 1845, daughter of Maria Thomasin and Staff Surgeon Edward William Burton by the Rev John Thomas Howe Le Mesurier Chaplain to the Forces.
Malta May 1847 Involved in a joint consultation with Staff Surgeon 1st Class James Barry and assistant surgeon Charles Dawson 42nd Regiment, when the Governor and Garrison Commander Sir Patrick Stuart contracted dysentery.

27 Apr 1848 Baptism of William George Burton, born on 17 March 1848, son of Maria Thomasin and Staff Surgeon Edward William Burton by the Rev William Hare, Chaplain to the Forces.
27 Apr Francis Charles Burton, born on 14 February 1844, was publicly received into the church by the Rev William Hare, Chaplain to the Forces. The child had been baptised privately at Gibraltar by the Rev John Buchanan, Garrison Chaplain.
Malta 12 May 1849 Left Malta to take up the appointment of PMO General Hospital Dublin. On 31 Oct, the Malta Mail remarked that:
He became endeared to so many in Malta by the amiability of his character and the unobtrusive conduct which distinguished him during his residence in Malta. On 11 Oct 1850, he died in Dublin, aged 41 years, leaving behind a widow and a young family of five children, the youngest since a month old.1
