Mar 1855 1,210 men of the 1st Light Division Provincial Battalion arrived in Malta and were quartered in Valletta.

4 Sep Lt Robert Reay 34th Regiment and Adjutant of the Provisional Battalion Light Division, aged 30 years, was buried in Malta.

6 Oct William Benjamin Allen aged 11 months, son of Schoolmaster Benjamin Cooke Allen 3rd Divisional Provisional Battalion was buried in Malta.
