Malta 5 Dec 1940 On 5 December 1940, Deputy Assistant Director of Medical Services (DADMS) Malta Command Colonel John Smith McCombe interviewed Dr Said and arranged to grant him an emergency commission as Surgeon Lieutenant RMA.

Malta 14 Dec 1940 Granted an Emergency Commission Surgeon–Lieutenant Royal Malta Artillery.
Reported for duty at General Hospital Mtarfa.

Malta 4 – 9 Feb 1941 Reported to Lt Raynes D M at St Andrews to conduct a Stretcher Bearer's course.

Malta Feb 1941 Attached to 1st/KOMR HQ Coy Mellieha.

Malta 9 Feb On duty at Medical Aid Post (MAP) Mellieha under the command of Surg-Lt J Sammut RMA officer-in-charge MAP Mellieha. A Regimental Aid Post was set up in a cave at Marfa which had been cleaned and had the floor levelled off.

Malta 13 June Left MAP Mellieha to take over temporary duties at ADS Wardija.
Returned to MAP Mellieha on 21 June 1941.

Malta Sep Appointed Surgeon Lieutenant Royal Malta Artillery.

Malta 14 Dec 1941 Promoted War Substantive Captain Royal Malta Artillery.

Malta 1942 War Substantive Surgeon Captain Royal Malta Artillery.

Malta 6 Feb 1943 Attached to 15th Field Ambulance RAMC.

Malta 26 to 28 Apr On the strength of 15th Fld Amb. Attended a course of Sanitation and Hygiene run by No 57 Fld Hygiene Section.

Malta 20 Oct 1943 Attached to X (I) List 30 Coy RAMC, surplus to war establishment. Performed area duties under SMO Malta.

Malta 1944 Attached to No 30 Coy RAMC.

Malta 1945 Attached to No 30 Coy RAMC. Performing Area Duties under SMO.

Malta 1946 Attached to No 30 Coy RAMC.
