Educated at St Bartholomew's Hospital. Took the MRCS and LRCP in 1894.
29 July 1896 Commissioned Surgeon-Lieutenant.
29 July 1899 Captain RAMC.
1903 Served in British Somaliland on the hospital ship Hardinge during the Somaliland Campaign of 1903.
29 July 1908 Promoted Major RAMC.
4 Mar 1911 Arrived from Edinburgh.
13 Mar 1911 Arrived by P and O steamer SS Sardinia.
On duty as Command Sanitary Officer.
1912 Sanitary Officer.
1913 Sanitary Officer.
Produced a report on water purification by chlorine of lime at Bir-id-Deheb Camp Malta.
28 July 1914 Start of the Great War.
29 July 1914 Wired at
Care of Mess. Westward London Region to rejoin his unit in Malta from leave immediately.
4 Aug 1914 Britain declares war on Germany.
Sep 1914 Sanitary Officer.

1916 – 1917 Served in France and Belgium. Was brought to notice for his valuable services rendered in War (Office Communique 18 Sept 1917). He was twice mentioned in despatches (London Gazettes 24 Dec 1917 and 5 June 1919).
26 Dec 1917 Promoted Colonel L/RAMC.
1918 – 1922 Served in Mesopotamia. Was mentioned for his services during the rebellion there in despatches London Gazette 9 Sept 1921.
Sep 1921 Appointed Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire for services during the operations in Mesopotamia.
5 Sep 1922 Retired with the rank of Colonel L/RAMC.
